Rendering of the UAHS Mirolo Charitable Foundation Black Box Theater (MCF Theater)
Why We Funded
The Mirolo Charitable foundation is proud to be the naming benefactor for The Mirolo Charitable Foundation Blackbox Theater (MCF Theater) at the new Upper Arlington High School. This unique space allows students throughout the Upper Arlington School system to foster their appreciation of the arts. This opportunity to provide a gift to the Upper Arlington Legacy Fund was a way to meld Ms. Mirolo’s love of the community with her passion for the arts, all while supporting education.
A Black Box theater is typically a smaller indoor performance space that allows for maximum flexibility to allow for multiple configurations. The MCF Theater will be a 2,260 +/- square foot space that can hold up to 170 people. The space is designed to accommodate multiple seating configurations with moveable seats and stage. The space will be used by during the school day primarily by those students engaged in drama and acting classes.
After school hours, the space will be utilized as a meeting place ranging from academic- and artistic-related events to collaborative discussions to presentations and hosting of various banquets. The Foundation is proud to be a part of this worthy project.
